Pondering how things grow:
Gavin: "You know what, Mommy?"
Me: "What, babe?"
Gavin: "Salad grows on trees and then falls off and then somebody picks it up and takes it to the grocery store. You knowed that, right?"
Excited about his upcoming birthday:
Me: "Buddy, they're having Safety Town at school the week of your birthday."
Gavin: "Well I can't go to school on my birthday!"
Me: "Why not?"
Gavin: "Cuz I have to stay home and eat cake!"
After a couple friends RSVPd to his birthday party:
Me: "Your friends are excited about your party!"
Gavin: "Yeah. It's prolly cuz they like my hair."
